Who we are
Linda Schneider, M.A., started the charity when she did similar sustainability work in the high crime housing projects known as Coliseum and Lockwood Gardens in East Oakland in 1992-95. She began the current work which unfolded into a larger and significant process merely from the addition of backyard chickens to her Elm Street home.
Rebecca Newburn, a math teacher and resident in Richmond, California, is the coordinator for Richmond distributions. She networks with local city officials, communities and teachers to insure the success of this program.
Pam Tellew, a former Oakland teacher, now home-schooling her children and president of the local homeschoolers association, is the coordinator for Albany and Oakland, also networing with local city officials, communities and citizens to insure the success of this program.
David DePape, web and all around assistant, aids in all facets of the implementation of the program, both technically and in specific communities and neighborhoods.
